Billy’s time with the nonprofit world and working with students in Denver began with Denver Kids back in 2002. After starting a for-profit career with Philip Morris USA, he felt the need to give back and joined Denver Kids as an Education Counselor. For over five years, he carried a caseload of 55 kids and enjoyed every second of it. In that role, he worked with charter schools in his area including DSST-Montview (prior name was Stapleton) and Odyssey Denver, where all three of his children have attended. During his time working with DK, he was fortunate to be named Counselor of the Year in 2004. Billy left DK in 2007 and rejoined the for profit world and entered the medical device industry. He continued to be a part of Denver Kids as a proud mentor and was awarded Mentor of the Year in 2009. Soon thereafter, Billy joined the DK board. He held numerous executive committee positions, including Board Chair for two years from 2015-2017. Billy also served on the Odyssey Denver Board and Bluff Lake Nature Center board, where he was also board chair. Billy is currently a Regional Sales Manager for Medtronic in their Cranial and Spinal Technologies Division. He holds a BA from Drake University, a MA from U. of Colorado-Denver and is working on a Healthcare MBA back again at Drake. Billy is a proud father of three children (Mikayla - a freshman at University of San Francisco, Matthias - a 7th grader at McAuliffe and Macy - a 4th grader at Odyssey) with his beautiful wife Krista and resides in the Bluff Lake area in Central Park.
