Why Support DSST Public Schools?
Your support of DSST Public Schools makes a real difference, to real kids—both in our metro-Denver community and nationally. You can be part of the solution to the crisis in public education in our country!
DSST Public Schools (DSST) uses a model that works. We have been consistently successful at achieving academic success with students from all backgrounds. DSST schools are a model for other schools in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) district as well as public schools nationally. DSST is education reform at its best and we help schools both in DPS and nationally to serve students better. We routinely host educators and school administrators to visit our school and learn first-hand about our programs and practices.
DSST serves a diverse student body on its first two campuses with three additional campuses slated to start up in the next three years. DSST: Stapleton serves students from all parts of Denver with a student population of 65% minority and 45% low income. DSST: GVR’s student population is 83% minority and 55% low income. DSST ensures that all students in its diverse student body are successful!
DSST: Stapleton is widely considered to be one of the leading open enrollment STEM schools (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in the U.S. DSST: Stapleton has consistently been the highest performing secondary school in DPS and in Colorado, based on growth and absolute performance. DSST: Stapleton’s first three graduating classes earned 100% acceptances into four-year colleges. Fifty percent of DSST’s 2010 graduating class is first generation college-bound.
At full enrollment, DSST Public Schools will serve over 4,200 students (55% low income; 65% minority) and will double the number of four year college-ready DPS graduates by 2020. DSST is founded on the belief that all students regardless of race, income or background can and should have the opportunity to graduate from a four year college prepared to compete in the global marketplace, lead productive lives, and be the civic leaders of the future.
