Bill’s Weekly Reflection: Sign Up!
As you all know, we have been working hard on creating a teacher career pathway over the last year-and-a-half. A core team of teachers from across our network have been leading this work. They have taken the ambiguous question of “What makes a Master Teacher?” and turned it into a teacher career pathway framework which will help us reward, celebrate and develop our teachers through a career continuum. I want thank our team of teachers and leaders who have helped get us this far – and who still have a lot of work to go!

We have a lot of work ahead as we pilot this pathway with teachers across the network. AND, we need your help piloting.
The purpose of the pilot is to learn with a large group of our teachers (60+) the strengths and weaknesses of our first design. We will answer the questions: Does the evaluation gives teachers the information they need to grow? Are the evaluations appropriately weighted and structured? How can we make the system better? It is a great opportunity for each of you to shape this important work and help us make it the best teacher career pathway system in the nation. Please consider joining the pilot if you have not already signed up. To sign up, please e-mail Meg Lafave by October 15th!
Even if you don’t sign up for the pilot, we will be asking for your feedback all year and will look forward to getting your input.
